Happy 90th Birthday Papa!

A little over two weeks ago (this is a little belated) we spent the weekend in Stillwater celebrating my Papa Bill's 90th Birthday!  It was a great celebration with lots and lots of family and good friends.

Saturday night we celebrated with the immediate family at Papa's house.  With all of my cousins kids and Tag it was controlled chaos most of the weekend, but the kids made use of Papa's big back yard.  It brought back memories of me and my cousins running around the same big back yard many moons ago!

On Sunday we went to church with Papa. My Papa is well liked by so many people (which I already knew) but it made the celebration so special to meet and talk to so many of his friends.  After church all of the family gathered for a catered lunch.  We had a very large group because Aunt Mildred (Papa's sister) and her three kids and their families all were in town for the party!

Once again the kids created some chaos when they discovered the arcade... check out the picture in the collage of Tag up "in" the skeet ball.

After lunch we moved the party back to Papa's church where we had a reception with all of his friends and colleagues.  Lots of people came to celebrate Papa!  We even surprised him (kind of) with a book of letters that Darcie compiled.  She had solicited letters from friends, family and colleagues of Papa's.  The book was amazing.  I made the mistake of reading some of them while I was there...which lead to my crying.

And of course, the kids had a blast running around.  Tag was the littlest of the cousins and he seemed to be the "mascot" for his cousins.  It was perfect when the kids found the playground and could let release some of their energy outside!

I love the picture in the top right... we actually got all of the kiddos to sit still for just a little bit. The kids in this picture are all of Papa's great grandchildren that were present.  Tag doesn't have any first cousins so this was a lot of fun for him.  He also loved seeing Caden.  When they saw each other on Sunday they hugged so much that they fell over!

Tag did not nap all day so we hit the road home thinking he would catch a little shut eye... but as you can see in the pictures below he stayed busy on the ride home and didn't even get a little sleepy.  It was a great weekend and of course we were exhausted when we made it home.

Happy Birthday Papa, I love you!
