Birthday Party Fun!

We celebrated Tag's 2nd Birthday last Saturday.  We had a brunch and enjoyed donuts, fruit, breakfast casserole and coffee.  Tag isn't much of a cake eater so we got Birthday donuts instead.  He really seemed to enjoy them but filled up on donut holes before most of his guests arrived.  First thing that morning Tag discovered his present from Mommy & Daddy.  We got him a play kitchen.  The first thing he did was 'wash some dishes.'

Then we got him gussied up in his new outfit which I thought made him look so grown up.   Then Tag's guests arrived.  We had family and friends join us to celebrate our little guy.  Tag went right for a donut and didn't care about blowing out his candle.  It was a beautiful day and the kids really enjoyed playing outside.  We had a pinata that instead of whacking it with a stick you just pull strings.  When the candy fell out all the kids rushed for a sucker including Tag who wouldn't let his go for quite awhile.  He enjoyed opening presents but sometimes Mommy had to open the presents because he wouldn't let go of his sucker and was drooling like crazy.
The picture below is of Tag watching some of his guests leave the party.  I thought it was a really cute picture of him and Maddie.

After the party Tag and Daddy opened Mr. Potato Head and played some basketball.  Tag enjoyed checking out all of his new presents.  After a much needed nap Tag wanted to go outside and play.  He mostly wanted to play with the bubble machine and ended up getting lots of bubbles in his face.
After playtime we took Tag out to a restaurant for dinner.  We thought it would be special to take him to an Italian place to get spaghetti since he does love spaghetti (see here).  But true to form, Tag didn't eat anything at dinner.  The waiter treated him to a big ice cream treat, but he didn't eat more than a bite of that.  Oh well!  It was just fun to have a night out with all 3 of us and a good way to end a really good day!
